Hurricane Preparation

Though we recently had a false alarm here in Central Florida, it’s better to be prepared when hurricane season rolls around, especially since these storms can be highly unpredictable. This includes your home as well as your business. Here are our top tips to prepare for tropical storms and hurricane weather:

  • Stock up on essentials: water, non-perishable foods, candles, flashlights, batteries, games for the kids, back-up chargers, medications, etc.

  • Make sure you keep important papers in a safe and secure place

  • Skip the window tape -> board up your windows instead

  • Trim the trees and shrubs around your home

  • Don’t touch metal fences following a storm, as downed power lines could cause the metal to conduct electricity

  • Don’t use charcoal or gas grills inside

  • Don’t drive through moving water, even if it’s low

  • Stay away from windows during the storm

  • Follow evacuation orders

  • Be a good neighbor!

Remember, it’s better to be prepared for a storm that doesn’t come than not be ready if it does.

From everyone at Sunline, stay safe this hurricane season!
